Stephen Ewart, the man, the music
With inspiration from his grandfather’s involvement in big Brass Bands, Stephen Ewart has been heavily involved in music from an early age and has now been working professionally in the music industry for the last 30 years. His focus is now on blues music and jazz along with a varied interest in other genres.
Stephen has shared the stage with the Australian music legends including Paul Kelly, Jo Jo Zep and Kids in the Kitchen and is currently playing with big bands Brassroots Live and Unusual Suspects while also playing with the very versatile Cuban band Canta la Tumba.
With 2 albums released to date, his 3rd and most recent album “No Go Zone” will be released on 10 December 2017
No Go Zone displays a mix of blues, groove, bass, Afro and Cuban rhythms and includes music from trombone, trumpet, guitar, bass, piano and more.
Combining with Stephen on this album are special guests including Chris Coyne on the sax, Sonya Horbelt on the drums and the renowned Ray Pereira on the congos. This wonderful album has been produced by the late David Willliams and is available on through cdbaby, itunes and spotify.
